Has anyone else had this problem and if you have, how did you solve it?
I have a Sony Xperia Z5 smartphone, which seems to randomly go into lock screen mode while I am using it. I have to repeatedly unlock it to carry on with whatever I am doing. I logged the problem with Sony Support and their response was to suggest a software reset, which I have done.
So I started after the reset with an apparently 'new' phone, reinstalled my apps from the Google Backup and I thought everything was OK until the touch screen random locking problem re-ocurred.
I use a lot of copy and paste when working on the phone, so it is particularly frustrating for the phone to go in lock mode in the middle of a copy and paste procedure.
Don't know what to do next so all help appreciated.

I think its related to the double tap lock option. In home screen hold touch and open home setting, then turn off the double tap to sleep option if its on. I hope it works. If not, its probably because of the power dock issue.
Hi,
Thanks for your advice.
The 'Double Tap To Sleep' option was on in the Home Screen settings and I have now turned it off.
However, after doing a quick test on the Home Screen, the Sony Xperia Z5 is still turning off if I hold the screen on the left hand side, with one half of the finger touching the screen and one half not. I suspect that when I am using Copy & Paste, and in other normal use, the Z5 will still turn off when touched.
What is the Power Dock Issue? - How do I find out more about this?
Also, is there some kind of Android or Z5 gesture that I am accidentally doing that is suddenly locking the screen during use?
Power dock I mean the dock you press to lock and unlock the screen and hold to power off or on. I think your problem is related to this. And you should visit your local Sony service. For hardware problems you cant do anything. By the way if its a software problem they will notice that. Good luck
