Hi,
I am having a problem with my sony z5. The screen is stuck on the black optimizing app screen. The only thing i can do is press the power on button and volume up (which vibrates 3 times) to switch phone off. But when i try to switch it back on again the same problem happens with black optimizing app screen eventually freezing after going through optimizing all the apps. The phone also gets really hot during this process.
Thankyou
Looks like your phone is stuck in a boot loop. So I'd suggest that you perform a software repair using Xperia Companion. This will do a clean installation of the latest firmware and will also wipe your internal memory, which means you'll sadly lose any data stored in phone memory (SD card content will not be affected). You need your phone turned off and charged to proceed with this process.
Follow the steps given in blue links, and keep us updated.

You could try loading in to ADB Mode by pressing Volume Down as you connect the device to a PC.
But you'll need you use the command prompt in Windows to initiate a device reboot using the ADB commands.
The ADB Drivers also need to be installed, or located somewhere, and you can work from inside the directory it's located...
You could try
adb reboot-bootloader fastboot reboot
that may trigger a check to restart what it might have gotten stuck on
