Hi, I have recently begun experiencing several issues on my Z5 Premium that have rendered it useless. It started with the phone randomly disconnecting from the mobile network. Then, it wouldn't connect at all (tried 3 different SIM cards) a couple days later. Coincidentally (or not), the sound stopped working on my phone at the same time and the only noise coming out of it was an annoying static sound. Then the camera stopped working, too. At this point, the only thing that works is the Wifi but the phone overheats after a short while and freezes.
I have tried factory resetting the phone, but that did not fix any of the above issues, leading me to believe that this is not a software problem but a hardware issue. The phone was great while it worked, but it only lasted 9 months which is completely unacceptable for a $700+ phone!
I am an avid Sony consumer -- I have purchased a PS2, PS3, PS4, 4K Sony Bravia TV and even the older Sony Xperia Z3 (which still works like a charm, by the way) -- and have generally had a positive experience with their products. However, now I am beginning to doubt their quality and am contemplating looking elsewhere for my electronic Needs.
With that said, I believe my phone is still under warranty and therefore I would like to have it fixed as I believe this is just a one-off experience and Sony will get their act back together like it always has.
Thanks,
Pete
Hello @Petorius89 and welcome to the community!
I see you tried a factory reset, but did you consider performing a software repair using Xperia Companion? This will do a clean installation of the latest firmware and will also wipe your internal memory, which is much better than a simple factory reset in eliminating software issues. Follow the steps given in the blue link, do not connect your phone until prompted to press volume down while plugging USB cable.
If the repair process didn't fix your issues, then you should contact your Local support and get it inspected by a professional. They will handle any maintenance/warranty issues better than this user-based forum.
