So I got my z5 premium last tuesday, never connected an aux cable yet. Right now my battery is draining like crazy and I can't play anything through my speakers. When it first happen thix xperia something app to do with music popped up in the notifications. I told it to never bother me again and hoped I was done with it.
Basically whenever I play something through the speakers it either stutters or put the media on pause (as android always does when disconnecting a headphone). I had never connected something with the 3.5mm port until just now while testing to find a problem, it does not stutter or think something disconnects when a aux cable is inserted. It also does not play media through bluetooth. Turning off and on does not help.
I used it in the rain today, but played music just fine through my speakers when I got home. An hour or two later it is not working.
You might have to wait for it to dry out, what if you try different headphones does it work?
I have used three different headphones that worked properly when connected, audio coming through doesn't sound distorted. I'll just leave it be for a couple of hours and hope it changes.
Tested all the audio parts in the diagnostics part, everything worked fine, loudspeaker played audio uninterrupted. Also booted in safe mode, played a youtube video and the audio kept playing just fine. Then went back to normal mode and so far, it works.
All the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium have this problem. The audio jack becomes problematic after sometime and the solution which works with Sony service people is replacement of the handset when under warranty. After the replacement, even the replaced handset will have this prolem and then you'll end up paying more to rectify the problem when not under warranty. This problem is actually a manufacturing fault at Sony's end!
