Z5 message crashes

Wondering if anyone else has issues with the Z5 when it comes to opening messages, mine will show opening conversation for 20 seconds before actually opening a message then once i complete the message the phone crashes and i have to close all open apps, phone is one month old and i'm begining to regret the change from an iphone. MMS's always make the phone freeze also.

I was hoping a software update would of fixed this issue but sadly it didnt. Not too keen on a much slower phone than previous phone for a further 23 months as this is the remainder of my contract.

Interested to see if this is happening to anyone else or am i the unlucky one with a lemon of a device.

Did you transferred the txts from your older phone?

If you have a large number of messages stored in the phone, you may notice that the messagning app becomes slower. We are working on improving this for future software updates and some improvements have already been made in the latest update (see this thread). When checking the IMEI-number you have registered with us it does however look like our latest update has not rolled out for your country and operator yet. Please keep checking for software updates and update your phone when the update is available.

i deleted almost all my conversation (the ones i kept, i need) and the messaging app just freezes up this only started happening a few weeks ago... had the phone for a year.

Same is happpening to me, unabl to access older texts (as in an imporant text message sent to me 1 week ago)

This Z5 phone is absolute . Twitter doesn't work on it, camera quality is no longer great, screen cracks easily and then renders phone unusable and the microphone on the phone does not work and causes echo which puts people off calling me.

 I'm so glad I only have 2 months left on my contract on this impressive feat of crap design

Morning - similar problems, try to load messaging app, once click on conversation app freezes and cannot do anything. Very frustrating

Mine has been for ages, finally bit the bullet, read all the online forums about fixes tried Sony's fix with pc companion but it wouldn't get past the phone lock. Backed up so much stuff finally gave up and did a factory reset, restored from my backup let's just say I'm heading back to 🍎
