Youtube Video Freezes

I have tried playing videos via the youtube app in Lollipop, Marshmallow and the recently released Nougat. The problem with the app is video playback will sometimes freeze randomly, leaving only the audio track playing while the video is freezed. I thought it is caused by the app itself, but after reinstalling, and repairing the firmware the problem still exists. The app works perfectly fine elsewhere though.

I am using an Xperia Z5 Dual (E6683) in Malaysia, currently running the latest nougat firmware, if it helps

I get this on my XZ and my wife's galaxy S6, even my daughters iPhone has done it, seems to be in last month or so.
My only guess would be that youtube has done something somewhere and a fix will be coming soon

Since recent update I've found some apps such as YouTube freeze never had an issue before with this until I downloaded latest software update anybody else experiencing this problem

Try clearing the Cache & also try removing then re installing the app

Welcome to the community. I am sorry to hear about this. 

You won't be able to uninstall the Youtube app, so if you are still experiencing the issue after following @dandy63's suggestions to clear the cache (Settings > Apps > [Problem App] > Storage > Clear Data), then please see if it does the same thing in safemode.

It seems to be a relatively good way to fix the probelms by downloading it if you need this YouTube urgently.
