I was using my device, when it switched off randomly. I tried to switch it back on, and it shows a black screen, with a tool type of icon in the middle of the screen. At the bottom of the screen there's a blue loading type strip.
It's been like this for ages, any ideas?
UPDATE: the phone now doesn't even switch on. I've tried re-setting, and re-booting and basically everything I can think off. When plugged in, the charing light doesn't even come on.
Hi @Tess212, I'm sorry to hear about that.
I can see that you have already tried a couple of troubleshooting steps. Have you tried with the force restart by holding the volume up button and the power button at the same time until the phone vibrates? If you still can't charge the device, try forcing a shutdown using the OFF button on your phone. After your device emits a series of three quick vibrations, release the OFF button. The device turns off automatically.
If the phone reacts to the force restart or the force shutdown by starting up but you are still experiencing the same behaviour, I would recommend you to try performing a software repair using Xperia Companion. This will delete all the data on the internal storage and reinstall the latest available software. Do note that if you are not able to start up and unlock the device you will not be able to create a backup.
If the phone does not react to either the force restart or the force shutdown, try charging your phone for three to four hours using a wall socket with the original charger and cable that was included with your phone.
Let me know how it went!
