Hello everybody!
After the last updating of my Xperia Z3, the bateery runs out very fast!!!!Android System takes a 58 % of power!!! Now i must to charge my device EVERY Day!!

People Please Help Me!!!

Yep, that's exactly what worked for me. I backed up all of my photo's before the "factory reset" but, even after the reset all of my old text & emails were still there (as well as my photos). You will have to go in to apps (as needed) and grant them "permissions" but, that was all. My phone (battery & temps) now works as it did before the update, maybe better. My battery life is what is was before & there are no more "heat" issues.

My "hat's off here": Sony stepped up (w/ the latest update) and fixed my (older) Z3 & I'm loving it as I did before! -Davis

1. Battery discharges very fast.

2. The recent apps screen closes even when only I remove 1 running application from it automatically home screen appears. seriously!

Related with issue of battery drain fast, should we factory reset and back up to give back what of we love xperia z3 especially the performance of battery?
I have the same experience like all of you now, battery drain fast, overheat at the back of phone even I'm not using it.
I have contact Sony support Indonesia yesterday and still waiting their response regarding my complaint
Do you think that Sony will improve this using another repair upgrade of marshmallow OS?
Really want to hear of any information you have..

I got a good solution to this problem but after doing this you will need to charge ur phone for longer time:
1. Go to settings->About phone->status
2. Then you will see a new option called 'Charge optimization' click open it and turn it off and done!!

Your battery will work as it was before(this option only comes in Android Marshmallow v6.0.1)

With my Sony Xperia Z3 (D6603) I have battery drain problem since the update to 23.5.A.1.291 1289-4167 R6D

Problems:

1. with a battery load of 35% left I was calling with the phone, after a few minutes, the phone switched off and was totally empty. (no screenshot available)

2. one night I forgot to charge the phone. it was +/-50% battery left and the next morning it was totally empty. According to the battery stats i got empty in +/- 30 minutes.

I made a screenshot: the weired thing is, after I charged it again, it got from 0 to +/-50% in a very short time as well:

3. biggest problem right now: battery drops down very fast. In 2 hours it is dropping +/- 9%, the Google Play-services is always in the top 3 of most consumed applications. I also see a lot the GPS icon popping up in the top bar of the phone. This screenshot is after the phone reset with Sony Xperia Companion and software repair.

Yesterday evening I installed Sony Xperia Companion and did a software repair. However this morning, I still have the same problems. The Google Play-services is in the top 3 of battery consumption, GPS is often on and battery is dropped 9% in +/- 1.5 - 2 hours with useing the phone only 3 - 5 minutes.

I didn't had this problem with the previous Android 6.0.1 ( 23.5.A.0.575 ) version, and it looks like the problem I had with my Xperia Z, there was also a GPS bug in combination with the Google service.

Can the Sony support desk please have a look at the GPS in combination with the Google Service problem in this version ? And how can I downgrade to the previous version ?

Update:

Today is the Google Play Service even on top, the GPS icon is also on, even there are no GPS related apps running.

Personally I find that Google play services are on top only when I have data switched on. It has been this way since day one. Not sure why, especially when I can leave wifi on and Google play services does virtually nothing in the background to consume battery but if I use mobile data it **bleep** the life out of the battery more than SOT in some cases.

I'm curious to see how the .291 update is on my phone. It's been quite some time and my service provider still hasn't released it, but for the Z3 tablet they have. Kinda ridiculous considering how it's an important update.

I just upgraded my phone (a Z3 Compact) and noticed this feature. Will leave it on for now and will see what happens.

It is interesting that this feature does come with the warning that it reduces the usage time of the device.
