Xperia Z2 case

Hello,

I recently bought an Xperia Z2 and I would like to know which case you would choose for this phone or else which case is better...I had an xperia U with a silicone case and when it heated up, condensation would appear so I stopped using that case...I don't want it to repeat on my Z2 since I see that when you use the camera it heats up a lot and when you use it a long time too (although I know it's waterproof I want to treat it well, avoiding the maximum of problems). so what would you do? what case is better?

Thanks!

P.D: Sony! please! do something about the battery use after the linking of the smartband with the phone! and about the heating up when using the camera!

Hi, on my Z1 i used an Incipio matt black 'hardish' case which left the front exposed but this time for my 2 week old Z2 i have decided on the official Sony 'wallet' style case.....it has taken a little bit of getting used to ie folding it over when making/answering calls but now i am used to it & it does look/feel good.

Have also bought a SPIGEN case but it is still packed away....exactly the same as the Incipio one......will keep it just in case i fancy a change.

Have a look on You Tube at the various cases...that way you get to see what they look like straight out the box & see what they look like on your Z2.....

Hope this helps :smileysmileywink:

Sony would probably recommend the official Sony case, I bought the roxio one and I wish I'd just gone with the official one.

@Elisabet1988 - Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately cases are always a bit tricky as any covering of the handset will have an impact on the heat disbursement of the handset. I would only advise you to look for one that allows the handset to "breathe" to limit the impact this will have.

I'm using RoxFit BumperCase (transparent back/solid gum round sides) it is preety breathable and doesn't affect calling and watching movies. Add a H+ or H9 screen glass protector on front and your good to go in evry environment. I'm using it for over 5 months now, the screen looks good as out of the box, the phone is little more thicker so the holding experience improved as well, more stable and not as slicky as pure aluminum.

Camera is also well protected when lieing on the back on tables, desks etc.

Just to notice also when buying a case. I bought a case with flip cover and card holders. Pretty thick and made od leather. This is one cheap version. So in the point. Because the thickness of the cover the flash for camera can't be used because it makes pictures blue(over lightened). Just noticed that. It somehow reflect the flash from the edge of the cover because it's so near the flash and objective...

Yes it's good to see how the hole covers edge of the LED and how close it is to the camera. My dad also has a classic leather flip case on Z1 and the flash occurs on the night photos like a finger blur, due to the bright brown leather used around camera hole. Anyway it's good when the hole is regular like in roxFit above, even a plastic case can give a bluish neon effect which will affect taken photos.

Is this case compatible with the charging dock? If not, can you or anyone recommend a case which i can use with my DK36 charging Dock for Z2?

I use a leather wallet case (Gear by Carl Douglas). I like it alot, quite stylish and I dropped the phone once - the case absorbed all and nothing happened.

I have to pick the phone out of the case for using the dock charger, but that's pretty quick and easy.
