Xperia Z1 Notification Light barely visible

My Z1 notification light is barely visible as the covering of the ear reciever is accumulated with dust. How to clean the ear reciever area as it is not advisable to use tools to remove the dust as it might damage waterproofing. Will appreciate for the reponses.

Use a cotton swap

Use a small brush(a strong-haired brush) then blow it off

Or even dip the earpiece in water

Is it safe to use cotton bud, will it not effect waterproofing ?

It would rather do damage to the earpiece actually.The waterproofing might not compromised.

Maybe you want to rinse it off at the sink??? That works too.

I gently used the cotton swab to pull out the dirt from the notification light groove, worked like a charm. Luckily did not cause any damage to the ear piece.
