Hi all, I received a new Sony Xperia Z3+ Dual (E6533) yesterday and first started it today.
It is running Android 5.x and I would like to update it to the latest available 7.1.1:
- Xperia Companion simply tells me in the upper left that the software update is not possible and also greys out some features like backup or restore.
- The smartphone itself tells it is already up to date.
- The website (https://support.sonymobile.com/de/software/) tells that it is currently not available after entering one of my two IMEIs.
So I was not able to update it.
Because I found a workaround for this issue while writing this post, I wanted to share it with you in case of you mess around with the same issue:
Use Xperia Companion Software Repairsoftware repair
It will reset the device and flash the latest sotware version available.
