The Sony Xperia ZR phone is not able to connect to any WiFi network in the 2.4 ghz range.
When I turn on the wireless, it would automatically detect and connect to the configured 2.4 ghz network. However, since yesterday, it is showing the network name, but shows as Not in Range. However, it connects successfully to 5 ghz networks.
Is there a way to resolve this issue and connect to 2.4 ghz wireless networks?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Is it one inparticular or everyone as some routers have a setting to only work on the 5Ghz range
Only the Xperia ZR is not able to connect. All other devices are able to connect to the same wireless network in 2.4 ghz band without any issue.
Some more information.
1. All 2.4 ghz wireless network SSIDs show up correctly in the list of available networks.
2. When I try to connect to any of them after entering their SSID and password, they just show up as saved. Phone does connect to them.
3. Even using a Static IP address does not help.
4. The portable hotspot gets set up, but no device can connect to it.
I will try to repair the firmware before giving to service center.
