Water damage sony xperia z1 compact!

Hello, since this phone is waterproof i wanted to try it under water, and when i putted it under water, while all the slots were closed properly and there was also a phone cover protecting it, my phone turned off and from then it didnt switch on again also after i pressed the power button like 10 times

In my case the phone was only washed superficially and appeared signs of condensation inside the display and under the front camera. I used sun heat to resolve the issue and I never trued anymore any meeting with water and phone...

Let's make a legal action to Sony. The answer they gave are ridiculous. I wrote that this problem happened with rain and the support tell me that is waterproof reminding me to Sony website to show me how is waterproof the mobile

Had the same problem with my Z1 Compact, took it in the local pool for 10 minutes, obviously with the covers securely closed, and an hour after leaving the pool the screen wouldn't light up, completely blank.  

Removed the sim card and found a drop of water on it, fortunately despite not being able to see anything on the screen I managed to input my unlock pattern and back everything up.

Have sent back to Sony, will let you know the result...

Hi, i have a xperia z1 compact 14w15 and i would like to know what generation has this problems with the waterproof. I read that the problem could have some relation with the not perfect assembling of the back part. I've seen the back has not a fessure, but it's very small, can enter only a thin peace of paper only some millimeters. I want to ask if a rigid cover can be enough to reduce the possibility of entering water. 

I want to discover if my phone can have problems before putting it into water.  Thanx

I used my phone underwater, made sure all flaps are sealed, i was amazed but after a few minutes when it was already dried it shut down, i checked the flaps and my memory cards, micro sim got wet, also my camera got moist.annoying

i bought this phone last week and i got the situation like you all. the fact told us SONY XPERIA Z1Compact is not 100% waterproof, but now how about our phone? is SONY really concern about water damage and do the refund etc? pls answer

I am never putting my Z1C near water. Sony would never admit water damage was due to a design or build failure. All sony have to do is say you left the ports open. How do you prove otherwise? Water proofing is simply a marketing tool.

Has anyone who sent their phone for repair heard anything back?  My status in Xperia Care is showing as "In Repair".

Just received an update, my device has been repaired and is being sent back to me, thanks Sony!
