Vodafone PAYG Sim Not Working In Xperia Z3 nor XZ

I have been everywhere to find out why my payg Vodafone sim won't work in my Xperia z3 nor in my Xperia zx. It works well in Samsung and Nokia. Should I have had a system update for both?

Hi....... I have tried an EE. and an O2 sim card. Neither showed up. I have put the Vodafone sim that was working into the X3 and this won't show up now.
The EE sim does work in my XZ though.
I am determined to make the X3 work!
Many thanks for your help and patience.

Have you tried a full reset?
I know it deletes all your pics, apps and data, but if it goes anywhere for repair, that's what they try first anyways

I will do it again. Nothing on it now as I'd cleared it all down. Previously. So here goes!

Sorry, I've factory re set twice to no avail. This is a real pain in the back side! I can't sell it like it is nor can I use it. This has to be a mechanical fault?

Are you saying that a different sim works in the z3,or no sims u tried works in the z3?
Is the z3 still under warranty?

No sim works now. Not even the contract sim. The phone is over 2 years old so I doubt it is still covered ...... and I've just stopped pay insurance.

Did Vodafone give you a code to enter?

Take the phone in to the Vodafone store and show them what's happening.

Hi. I spent A lot of time in the store a week or so ago. About two hours. They were not able to help..... Although they did let me have a new sim which the proved was active.
I have, in fact found a solution which has now worked. I have used my unlock code which they provided initially on an EE free sim.
I had to gently clean the inside of the sim slot, then I taped a very thin slip of paper to the back of the carrier. This I inserted into the aperture, making a more snug fit to make contact with the connectors. Not sure why it wouldn't work in my new phone though. Maybe this is a small design fault?
Very many thanks for your encouragement and patience over the past few weeks, as without it I probably wouldn't have found out so much about the workings of the phone.
Many thanks.

How many times have you used the PUK code?

Are the SIM cards activated? Or do they need to be activated on first connect?

good to hear. Try and find a sim card adapter if the cards aren't the exact size

Btw, the PUK code also works like a device security PIN... If you get it wrong too many times you need to call the carrier to issue a new one if you lock it out

Is it all sorted?
