Be aware that the repair at Sony could also fail. So in the end you have just sent in your phone for a couple of weeks and no still no working phone afterwards.
And to open a compact device like a smart phone to repair the phone could also cause damge on the phone. If the repair doesn't work out completely, the damage of the first repair can void your warranty at the second try of Sony.
