Update 23.5.a.1.291 battery optimization

So today my Xperia Z3 updated and a screen saying something like:
The maximum amount of charge has been reduced to optimize the batter. Check ... to change it.

Then another screen came on top of it so I couldn't read the previous one carefully but it looked important because my battery went down from 52% to 40% after 5 minutes of update (this must've something to do with it).

What was the full message cause I couldn't find anything related in Settings-Battery optimization other than the return of stamina mode.

@fexjo
Thanks for the suggestion to use Ampere. I checked my magnetic dock and it reported charging current of up to 480mA. And in my car, I'm already using a 2A output, and it reported around the same, up to a max of 500mA. Maybe the car charging problem is because the last time I was charging and driving, it was in the hot midday sun. The phone seems to somehow not charge well (or at all) even if connected when the battery is hot, I'm assuming.

@ikramkhasim
you're welcome Slightly_smiling_Face
When the battery is hot.. the phone limits its charging to max 500mA.
But if your battery condition is cool and the charging current is still low, consider trying different magnetic dock/cable hehehe

Ah, that explains it! Too bad it's always hot here in Malaysia. Haha.

So, I also did the update of the 23.5.A.1.291 on the Z3, and I also have an issue. It started about 2 or 3 days ago, my battery drains FAST, what is going on? I installed JuiceDefender and Avast Battery Saver, and both of them show me that the app that's consuming the most is the Google Play Services... my phone, before this stupid update, used to work PERFECTLY, and now it (and believe me when I'm shouting out blasphemies in at least 3 languages for the effing update). Sony FIX THIS, I called the service line (the first guy who I talked to was an idiot who pretended not to understand anything I said, and the second person was no help either). The phone gets warm for no reason at all when I'm using it, and overnight, I lost 34% battery in a span of 6 hours (I had 72% battery when I went to sleep), and my phone was locked. WHY IS THE BATTERY BEING CONSUMED, WHEN NO APPS ARE RUNNING?
Why will my phone LOSE the warranty if I decide to reset back to factory settings?!?! Someone please help me out, and tell me how to fix this. I keep reading that if I remove Google Play Services, and then reinstall it, it should help. What is the solution?!?! Is a patch gonna come out to fix this epic fail of an update?! Oh, and one more thing, is Doze really also the blame to this issue?! HELP!!!!

Try disabling WiFi and Bluetooth scanning. Go to Settings> Location> "Three-dot list on right top corner">  Scanning> disable both options. That helped move Google Play Services to number two on the list after Screen. You can further turn off Google Location History to reduce battery use (although you lose some functions). Go to Settings> Location> Location Services> Google Location History> and disable it. Hope this helps?

what are the functions lost? I just did a factory reset, and just to be sure I used the xperia companion and I was upset that I still had the stupid update when I finally turned my phone back on. What bothers me, is the fact that I do NOTHING with the phone, and it gets warm for no reason!!!! What is going on? And thanks, I'll follow your advise!!!

You'll just lose functions that provide you location-aware services, mostly like in Google Now, and also if you use the phone to track the locations of your loved ones (they wouldn't be able to see you on the map anymore).
