The feature to transfer files using Media transfer mode via Wi-Fi® has been removed in the Xperia™ Z4 Tablet and the Xperia™ Z5 series. Moreover, the Media transfer mode will not be available in Xperia™ Companion, the new tool that is replacing PC Companion, because Windows® 8.1 has removed the trigger menu.

Hi @ikkisenpai,

I'll see if I can get more information about this. I'll keep you updated.

I have the same question too. I upgraded my ZR to the Z5 and I was unable to set up wireless transfer.

I've been to z3c and it has an option for Wireless Media Transfer. But now in z5 it only has Windows Tethering and I dont know how it works. I am using Windows 7 atm. Can anyone help me? TIA.

I tried in this way :

I open PC Companion, without connecting Z5

Then "How to connect"

Wifi Connect

I follow instructions

And then a pop-up says that I can't do a Wifi Conn.

So I think for media storage and similia, u have to connect USB in this way or u should install Media Manager, that I think, pershaps works in WIFI Winking_Face

is there no official alternative? will it be available in the future? tbh file transfering through wifi is a basic function these day. 😕 it was a best alternative transfering file wirelessly.
