Unable to answer incoming calls

I'm unable to answer any incoming calls because the display becomes unresponsive. If the screen is blank, it remains blank until the phone stops ringing. If the screen is active, it remains active but unresponsive for the duration of the ring. I'm still using Kit Kat 4.4.4. Any help would be appreciated.

See if this helps: go settings-apps-all,scroll down to InCall UI and tick show notifications.
