Two quick questions

This is for a guy who switched from iPhone to the z3 compact.
Question 1: in the messaging app only one side of the messages is showing, just messages received, not sent. Is there a way to have on one screen both sides of the conversation?

Question 2: is there a way to have banner alerts on the screen like the iPhone? Where when the phone is asleep and receives a message it lights up and displays the received message?

Yes iMessage has been deregistered. Was done the day it was bought.

Boot on safe mode, if you don't encounter this issue then its an app acting up

Aha! In the safe mode both messages now appear! So I have an app that is screwing with messages?

Yes, it could be a messaging app, have about hangouts, have you combined SMS w/ hangouts? any notification app?

So I went through downloaded apps, found an app called "Zedge", didn't know what it was. Removed. All messages appear now. Thank you so much for all your help uliwooly and friends!
