Sudden shut down due to low battery at 70%

I have a Xperia Z5. Its 1 year old and worked perfectly. Since a few Days the phone suddenly shuts itself down spontaniously with a low battery message. The battery level is then arround 60-70 %. When the charger is attached it shows also 60-70% and the phone can be booted without issues and used for a random time until it shuts down again.

I already did a reset to factory settings.

The issue also happens during safe mode.

It runs Android 7 Since a few weeks.

Yes, now I did. Complete reinstall. Barely apps installed. Issue still there. I This was my last Sony phone. The Z had the same software bugs. And now the Z5 still has them. They are to expensive for This crap.

@Mmeu

That might be a hardware issue rather than software, contact your Local support to get it inspected.

I Will do that. I dont think its an software issue either since its back to basic now and still having the issue. As long as its connected to power it works perfect.

Thanks for thinking with me

Hi @ramsdaro;

Have you checked your battery condition in the service menu>service tests (dial *#*#7378423#*#*).

No I did everything what was suggested. And even the fact the battery status was shown as ok, it charged fine and everything I replaced the battery. It was only 2 min work and 15 euro's so worth the risk.

It solved the issue. I'm using the new battery now for months...No issues anymore.

The old battery was thicker and looked exploded a bit. So that was pretty clear.

Thanks a lot for responding.

I did do the battery check. I checked again to be sure and it says "Good, no need to replace it."

But I definitely suspect thats the issue. and have looked at replacing it.

After reading your last post I think I will definitely give that a shot.

Thanks a lot for the help and adivce.
