Sudden battery drop z1

Been having problems with my Experia Z1 sudden running from 30% to 0% in less than 1 min. then after getting the 5.0.2 update it has gotten to the point where the phone will run out after less than 4 hours of use, with sudden drop from over 50% making the phone barely useable

I am also having the same prolem after the lollipop 5.1.1 update... Battery suddenly drops from 50 to 0% and it is like a count down..

Tried all ways but nothing helped. tried hard reset, complete software repair through PC companion, even tried to unlock the boot loader and locked it again. Nothing worked. It is very frustrating at times it is hard to communicate and battery dies when required.

Please some one help on how to fix this thing.

Fed up with this issue for the past one month.

now keeping my mobile charged always like a desktop computer.

I got the same problem, as the time passes it get worse, today it dropped from 67% to 0%, then i turned the phone on again and it was 67%, but after a few minutes it dropped to 0% again, it only kept on while connected to a charger, and checking the app battery cosumption, each one was at 0% or 1%.

This is almost definitely a software bug. It drops like a stone to 0% then it powers down within 5 seconds. So you charge it, and in the next 20 mins it goes up to 3 or 4%. You switch on and then Hey Presto, it's suddenly gone up to 80%. What battery can possibly do that? Fortunately I will be solving this problem by replacing my Z1 compact with an iPhone 6S.

Why everyone facing same problem? Why not not Sony or any officials come and tell the problem rather than let us wonder in dark. If its battery issue then simply tell to replace than checking various solutions (factory reset. Root, PCC run etc.) A straight solution will save our time.

I am also facing same problem, came here to find solution but seems noone is having answers. Below is my battery graph which keeps fluctuating than a clock. Screenshot_2016-02-10-20-06-05.png

Real problem is some component keeping mobile awake for more than needed also WiFi toggle doesn't work and draining battery. Below is snapshot of my battery where I didn't use WiFi all the time but battery graph shows I am using. I had checked all the scanning off also WiFi off.Screenshot_2016-02-10-23-34-47.png

Same issue with mine and it is really getting annoying.. you barely can't use your phone anymore because you hug the power outlet. Still no response from support huh?

I had submitted the phone at Sony service station. As of for primary investigation, Service center noted me that battery has formed bulged because of that backpanel is slightly opened up (lifted). I presume all this is due to overheating issue of Xperia Z1.

Anyone of you facing battery drop issue check back panel for bulge or bump. That may give indication that there is something wrong with battery (as its obvious with battery graphs, but still second confirmation).

Any news concerning a fix for this?

I also have a Z1 compact which suddenly drops from 30% or 60% to zero and shutsdown. Android version 5.1.1.

Not a good news from Sony Service Center. They had estimated $200 to solve the issue. The lady on phone (she don't know technical details), told me battery alongside motherboard is damaged so need to replaced. I asked about motherboard issue she is incapable to answer and I am waiting for Sony to SMS me to collect my phone and ask technician about motherboard flaw. As far as I know my phone was working fine without any major concern that shows motherboard issue. This was third phone in row from Sony has hardware issue. (W960, Xperia Z, Xperia Z1). It was nice time with Sony started with W810i. There is no way I could verify the problem stated by service center guys are authentic and not pressing false charge. I had no option than to say NO and purchase mid-range new phone from other brands under $150 with better specs and warranty. Its better you check with mechanic outside Sony service center after estimation from service center, Just to verify the claim.

Customer service recommend changing the motherboard even when they have no idea what the problem is. So the response you got is worthless.

I read XDA forum about this issue and the consensus there seems to be that the battery is broken. It seems weird to me as this sounds more like a software issue to me. But perhaps rather than wait eternally for a software update that MIGHT fix the issue I'll order a new battery and change it myself.
