Succesfully Update 10.5.1.A.0.283

Hello Guys, 

I just want to share that I got same problem regarding to Android update version 10.5.1.A.0.283. I've tried to update it using by my phone, but it appeared that I couldn't install the new sodtware and required to try again. But it works if you use PC companion, faster and easier.

Even though I don't know yet what's new in this version. But, the most is my version is updated.

An OTA fail may due to several reasons such as your internet data stability, Telco not support for OTA update and etc...

Best to always use your computer to do any update.

How many MB that pc companion use to update the Z... Cause i used the update service but it use almost 1gb... For ota it take about 1++ MB but i've failed caused it could not installed

I truly am sorry if I couldn't fulfil your message, because to be honest, I don't really even know what's OTA? I was just assumed that when I faced with this update matter, I got irritated, can you imagine I had already download and try to install it in my Xperia Z and still got the notification "Couldn't Install The Update, Try Again Later" for 5 times. So I went to the this forum and found another alternative by using PC Companion. And it worked well and very very fast.

Or maybe you could refer to Bandolero's advice and analysis, because they could be one among the factors that may caused your problem.

I just want to share the experience, just in case some of you guys forgot to use this alternative one. That would be all. Once again I really am sorry, but I wish you all the best, Zulhamizan98.

HI MRCHMNNV & Zul,  OTA is actually over the air. where some user will receive notification and able to update from the phone it self.

But due to some reason, may be internet connection stability, Telco not supported for OTA for some country and available storage and etc..

Therefore is advisable to backup the phone and update from PC Companion which is a software that we can download and install to the Computer and update or backup the cell phone.

Strangely, I could update via OTA but was unable to do it through PC companion.

One issue though - now i am unable to access any wifi network. The problem of wifi network dropping that persisted before has become worse and although I am able to view the network, I am unable to connect to any - neither at home or at work!!

I thought the update was supposed to eliminate the problem!! Any solutions??

somebody can help me please?! Usualy i make updates from the phone but the last version of Xperia Z the ask from computer. My phone has baterry 54 % as usualy is asking 80 %. I have download the last verion in computer and star to do the procedure step by step and my phone shut down and is not conected...... Its writing THE UPDATES IS FAILURE... I recharge the phone, i have instal and uninstal the program but nothing. Please help me I don't wanna lose the information from the phone.

Hope my reply finds you well.
Well Catrin, before you make any rush action and regret it, please back up your phone first to prevent the data lost.

I was experiencing the same related matter. I got frustrated when I know I couldn't upgrade my version to the latest, but it's finally worked when I use the computer even with minimal 51% power. I don't know, but I guess you should check your Internet connection stability. Please let me know regarding to your progress.
