Sound bug on Xperia Z3 after Android 6.0.1 marshmallow update

After updating my xperia z3 to android 6.0 .I have got sound problem while listening to music.

When i turn on surround sound option in sound settings and phone is locked,the sound is heard like slow motion , like distorted

.Its only there when i listen to music through headphones.And When surround sound is turned off the distortion disappear.If anybody experiencing yhe same problem please post here .If there is any solution please post here.

Hi @thomasacquins,

Do you experience this distortion as soon as you lock the screen or does it take a few minutes before it appears? Do you have any other audio settings enabled apart from Surround sound (VPT)? Also, which surround setting are you using, studio, club, etc?

Me too sound problem!!!

The distortion occurs after 3 seconds locking the phone.It only occurs when using surround sound VPT option.There is no distortion when VPT is off.I have tried all 3 surround modes ,every modes is giving the same.But when i play music on speaker with VPT (studio) on and plugging in the headphones the there is no distortion.I have tried repair install 2 times but the problem is still there.

Z3 have good sound quality only in kitkat but Sony mess up sound driver in android 5.0 and in 5.1 still didn't fix it, also in 6.0.1 things get worse, that's way better use some third app for playing music or get root and install ViPER4Android.

I am also facing same issue. In Kitkat Z3 has exceptional sound quality. 5.0, 5.1, 6.0.1 that is messed up. i went to sony stores to check whether the issue is still persists with other models like Z3+,Z5 etc. and no surprises, that issue is still present. After support chat, some agents told me to do software repair. i done that, but no luck. so its pretty clear that its software issue. I am rolling back to kikat 4.4

@thomasacquins What file format are you listening to, normal .mp3's or are you using another format?

just updated my z3 (D6603) and I'm having some issues, in the middle of a call the screen just go black and I'm no longer able to finish the call, buttons not work, the call continues until the caller hang up on the other side...

any body with any ideas? is there a repair patch or tip?

I'm using flac audio format.But i have tested mp3 format it's output is also distorted when using surround vpt .
