Sony Xperia ZR reboot loop

Hello,

I'm having trouble with my phone as it continuously reboots itself spontaneously throughout the day. The problem starts randomly, the phone shuts off and reboots itself over and over. Eventually it stops but then starts again and again. I have tried using the PC companion to fix it but it has not helped. Please help i really would not rather change phones as i had no issues with it until this problem started. Please help. Thank you

You might need a new SIM card.Have you tried to use the device in airplane mode and remove the SIM?

Hi Rurouni,

Welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

You may also want to check the SD card, this could simply be restarting due to the SD card having bad data loaded on to it.

Let us know how you get on.

@jake-sonyxperiasupport Thanks for the help, i replaced the SD card and i've been waiting a while to see if the problem persisted. For the most part haven't expierenced much trouble since. The phone has been ok, but it did switch off again and reboot on two more occasions but not as frequent as it did before. All in all it seems to be working better now. Thank you for the help, much appreciated

I have this problem with the ZL and Tmobile. My most recent conclusion is that it is provoked by change of tower or loss/regaining of signal between LTE and HSPA.  Driving the NJ Turnpike, it happens about every 10 minutes.

If "mobile data" is turned off, these phones do not access LTE, because voice is still on HSPA. This stops the reboot loop.

My bad workaround is to keep mobile data off except when I'm actually using it. This is not practical for many users.

WARNING TO SONY: You face major loss of high-end market share unless this problem is fixed promptly and decisively. It is surprising that Sony would release this firmware without having someone drive the New Jersey Turnpike first. I would have done it for you.
