Hi,
I connected my sony xperia z1 to sony bridge for mac and it told me I had a new version of kit kat available. I choose, Update, and nothing happened. I tried restarting the phone, the computer and still nothing.
How can I solve this?

Hi.
Maybe try to trash (uninstall) Bridge and install it again. I did update to my Z1 and Z2 Tablet the same way as on your screens (on MacBook Pro Retina with USB3 ports). Eventually try second USB port but AFAIR they are the same in Macbooks so it shouldn't matter.
Do you have VMware Fusion installed? Make sure that Windows is turned off during update. Other way it may catch USB communiaction during update.
Try performing a system repair as this will often fix issues after an upgrade - This will factory reset your phone
Switch off your phone and unplug from Pc (Hold volume up and power for around 10 seconds)
Start PC Companion and select Support zone then Update my phone/tablet then in Blue Repair my phone/tablet and follow the onscreen instructions - When prompted connect your phone still switched off holding volume down or back button - This should start the repair or reformat process
If you are using Windows 8/8.1 or a 64bit operating system then adjust the settings for PC Companion and run in compatibility mode and chose Windows 7 or XP
Thanks, but I'am using bridge for mac, and the last time I did a system repair, it took a lot of work to put everything back together, I trying not to do that, just in last resource
Which Mac you use and when exactly "nothing happened"?
AFAIR Bridge is downloading firmware but prior to that it switches device into update mode. Maybe try another USB port and make sure Bridge is up to date.
I'am using a macbook pro with 10.8.4 software version.
Mac bridge is up to date I already checked. I'am sending print screens of the message
I chose update, and nothing happened. Then I tried clicking on " new xperia software version available"

Have you tried restarting the Mac computer as well as the Handset and then performing the update on the device?
hi Jake,
Yes, that was the first thing I did
