Sony Update Centre app gone in Lollipop? Star in notification bar?

Two questions I have about the new Lollipop update, where has the Update Centre app gone, its the one for updating the Sony apps like Walkman, Album and Movies etc... My second question is what is the little star for in the notifications bar?

If you have searched the forum a little, you would have found the answer:

1. what's new holds the app updates from now on.

2. the star is related to priority mode enabled from sound schemes.

If you stay on Kitkat will the update centre stop automatically for Sony App Updates? in other words if we want to continue receiving Sony App updates on KitKat we are more or less forced to download Lollipop.

Could they not have added the Sony Updates to What's New for KitKat aswell?

Sorry @cobbler , not sure what happens to application updates if you stick with kitkat or downgrade. Maybe @Rickard can tell us after the weekend.

Yes, it'll be interesting to find out.

Isn't that added to What's new in the menu on the left? I don't have 5.0.2 anymore (I went back to 4.4.4 for now), but I remember that What's new provided a possibility of update of apps.

The Update Centre is removed in Lollipop, What's New app is where updates will be.

I have not received any information about Update Centre no longer being supported. We also have several products on Android 4.4 still using this app.

You may also have noticed that it's now also possible to update Walkman and Album from Google Play.

Hello Rickard,

That's great to hear that it's still being supported for those still using KitKat, and thanks too for informing about Walkman and Album being on Google Play Store, I was wondering about those apps and this info you have supplied has certainly helped, much appreciated.

I take it that when there are updates to Walkman and Album they will show on play store without requiring to install them from scratch from play store?

Yes, they are shown as updates to the preinstalled versions so Google Play should give you a notification or update them automatically depending on your setting in Google Play for automatic updates.

But if you would like to check manually they are available here:
