Smart Connect bug

Smart Connect bug

I have smart connect set to launch Spotify and pause Walkman when headphones are plugged in. It is also set to pause when headphones are pulled out. Since the update released last week (v. 23.1.A.1.28) smart connect plays Walkman when headphones are plugged in regardless of the settings. Can this be looked in to Sony?

1- Revise your Smart Connect settings, don't forget that Walkman is now called Music, may be you need to re-select it again.

2- Clear cache of Smart Connect app:

- Go to Settings -> Apps -> Smart Connect -> Force stop, Unistall updates, Clear data.
- Go to your Play Store and update Smart Connect again.

Thanks for the advice that worked! The only bug now is the music app starts playing for a couple of seconds and then stops again which it didn't do before the update But other than that works well.

No problem. Why do you add "Pause Music" to your Smart Connect settings anyway? Just keep the settings to start Spotify and delete the part of pausing Music.

If you don't add pause music it starts to play from the music app automatically. I have no idea why it's always done that even though there is no command to start playing music in there at all.

May be it was fixed after upgrading to Music app, just try it and check if it works now.

Just gave it another go. Even with play music deleted and launch Spotify when headphones plugged the only commands it still plays from the music app. Had to put the pause music command back in. Its got to be built in to the apps code to start the music when headphones are plugged in regardless of what other commands are selected.

I suggest that you report this issue to Sony directly, may be the incluse it in a future update or fix:
