Small applications window nonsense

With Android 7, the small apps window moved to the top of the screen. It was both difficult to use and harder to use. Please take small apps below the screen and activate the shortcuts window again.

OK, but I'd be interested in the details behind how Google allowed Sony to keep Small Apps on Nougat but forced them to make accessing them more difficult. Doesn't make sense to me.

Still would like to know whether Small Apps remain on 7.1.1 in any form, and whether someone from Sony will read this?

What contact details would you use for Google and Sony on this issue? Thanks

Like I've said, there are other threads on the same topic with official statements on this, use the search bar, you will find them.

Only statement I've found from Sony is why Small Apps don't exist on the XZ: 'This is according to the specification and how Google has defined it.' 

That's not relevant to the Z5c and doesn't answer my other questions.
