Hi folks,
I have just changed my sim card. Unfortunately I am unable to use my sim card as it is locked when I turn on my mobile phone.
I already typed *#*#7378423#*#* >
All appeared as '0'
Help?
Hi @Eringav, welcome to our forum!
Did you change to a different service provider (operator) or did you simply just replace the old SIM card with a new one? If you have a new SIM card from the same service provider, there may be a temporary PIN code set that you need to enter to unlock the SIM card.
If you have changed to another service provider, you should get a message asking you to enter the code to unlock the SIM network.
However, when you entered the service menu code of the device and you saw the "0", was there an "x" to the left of "Network"? ([x] Network).
If there was, it is indeed lock to a specific service provider and the "0" means that you have no attempts left to enter a code to remove this lock from the phone and you will need to get in touch with your Local support team and they will be able to assist you further.
I hope that helps!
All new simcards in my country are password protected and the credit card size holder they come in,have the sim lock and puk code written on there near the top somewhere.
You are not clear whether it's a new sim from same provider or new sim and provider.
Hi folks,
I have sent my phone to Sony for Repair. I changed provider and got a replacement sim. I also wanted my mobile number to be ported to the new provider as it has been my number for years.
I basically put the new sim in my phone. Turned it on and I was shown on my screen to enter a code to unlock the sim. As I hadn't a clue what code they were referring to. I entered any old code I could think of (Yes. Not smart on my part - but hey ho!).
Because I went over the 5 attempts given to me to unlock it. My phone and sim was completely locked. I ordered a replacement sim but was no good as my phone was already locked.
Hopefully I've explained enough for you lol
Thanks for ur help
Gavin
If you've entered the wrong sim code too often, then you need to enter the puk code then the correct sim code first, then once open.... go to settings>security>sim.lock and disable
I'm not sure if your phone is network locked,I think you will need to get the sim unlocked first and then see if you get connected to the new network.
Hi @Eringav123, sorry to hear about this.
If your phone is locked to a specific carrier and you don't have any remaining attempts left to unlock the network lock on the phone, please get in touch with your Local support and they will assist you further.
Let me know how it goes!
If your network carrier has a self service number, you can also get the puk code from there.
