Second hand xperia z2

Hi everyone, i recently bought a second hand xperia z2. It runs on the kitkat operating system. Is there any way i can request update? I came across something that said owner had binned update. New to all this and would be greatful for some advice.

Check if you can update your phone through XC if not then you can use Xperifirm or flashtool
