Hi,
I get notifications on my phone that the internal storage is 95% full (most of it will be spotify, which wont tranfer to my SD card aswel)
The problem occurs when I press the Transfer button;
"Transfer interrupted. Check your SD card for possibly transferred data."
I tried formatting the SD card, booted in Safe mode & searched in File Commander for illegal file names.
It worked before, I have an SanDisk Ultra 32gb MicroSD HC installed on my Xperia Z3.
My device is up to date running 5.1.1 (23.4.A.1.264)
How can I solve this problem?
Have you checked what is it that you are trying to transfer? what if you use the file commander to transfer the files? have you encrypted the SD card?
@uliwooly
The files im transferring are Pics, Vids & Apps.
Is there an option to tranfer all those files at once with FileCommander? Or should I do it manually.
BTW there are files stored by my phone on my SD
Since the internal memory its at 95%, that might be causing this problem, you could transfer the larger files like the videos or pictures and then see if it works.
Sorry to hear that the transfer is interrupted.
Would it be possible for you to take a log file from your phone after you got this message and send it to me?
To take logs:
1. Settings > About phone > Build number, tap 7 times on the build number
2. Go back and select Developer options and turn on "USB debugging"
3. Transfer to SD and when you get this message:
4. Settings > Developer options, select "Take bug report". When the report is ready you'll get a notification. Tap this and upload it to Google Drive.
Please share the file on Google Drive and send me a link in a private message here on the forum.
As i understand it, Spotify will store its files where there is most free space when you install the app but it can't be changed afterwards. So if you uninstall it and then install it again, it should start storing to your SD card if you have more free space there now.
@Rickard
Thanks, Its in your inbox
We have checked the logs you sent us (thanks again!) and we believe this is caused by the character ":" in the filename of some of your files. Using a computer or file manager in the phone, could you please check the DCIM folder on the internal storage and see if you have pictures there where the filename contains ":". If so, rename the file(s) and remove that character.
We will make a change for this in the update to Android 6.0 so that this doesn't happen.
Hi Sony
It is now 23/8/18 and I am now getting this error about files being interprupted when trying to transfer to SD card Photos, Videos and Apps.
I have made room on my phone as it's not 100% full internally now but no files can be transferred now at all.
Was this error sorted as you stated in the 6.o update please?
With thanks,
Amy
