Hi @Tahvo

The message Screen overlay detected appears when an installed app, that has the permission to draw over other apps, is running in the background. When the message appears, you have to either pause the overlay feature of the relevant overlay app, or disable the Draw over other apps feature for the overlay app, that is, for the app that has the Draw over other apps feature enabled.

The permission Draw over other apps allows an app to display on top of other apps you're using, and may interfere with your use of the interface in other apps, or change what you think you're seeing in other apps.

To avoid the message Screen overlay detected from appearing pause or close the overlay feature of an app. If this doesn't solve the issue, you should turn off the Draw over other apps feature for of the relevant overlay app.

To pause the overlay feature of an app

  1. From your Home screen, tap the Application screen icon.
  2. Find and tap the app that is causing the overlay.
  3. If a pause option is available in the app, pause the app. The pause feature may be a button in the app, or an option in the settings menu of the app. If a pause option isn't available, you have to shut down the app.
  4. Open the app you were originally using and accept the permission.
  5. You can now choose to reactivate the overlay app right away (the one you paused). You will then have to temporarily disable the overlay feature each time an app requests permission. Alternatively, you can choose to re-enable the overlay feature when you're prompted once you use the overlay app.

To disable the Draw over other apps feature

  1. From your Home screen, tap the Application screen icon.
  2. Find and tap Apps.
  3. Tap the settings icon (gear icon).
  4. Tap Draw over other apps.
  5. Find and tap the app running in the background (the overlay app).
  6. Drag the slider beside Permit drawing over other apps to the left, turning off the permission.
  7. Close and reopen the app you were originally using when the message appeared.
  8. Complete the set up of the application permission.

If you can't identify which app use the overlay, you can use safe mode to exclude 3rd party apps.
