Hi All!
The issue in subject above started after the Nougat update 32.4.A.1.54. My phone was working perfectly before with Marshmallow. Here's the strange things I noticed (and tried) so far:
1. Screen rotation doesn't work with photos in Album nor YouTube videos.
2. Camera is stuck on landscape (horizontal) mode. Photos I take are saved in that way on Album. Camera rotation won't work.
3. Phone's built-in tests show that Gyroscope and Accelerometer don't work, even in Safe Mode.
4. I noticed that both Screen and Camera rotation work without problems for just a few seconds (about 30 sec.) right after a cold boot or restart of the phone, which leads me to think it's a software conflict. After such initial seconds, both functions fail to operate.
5. When I first updated to Nougat, I did it through the phone's software update feature. After, to avoid possible update errors, I performed a second update by using Xperia Companion's repair software (should I try a third repair attempt?). By the way, no new apps were installed after the update process, except the usual required Google updates.
Any ideas? This issue is blowing my mind!
Anyone?
You can perform one more software repair using Xperia Companion, if it fixes that issue then it was indeed a software glitch, if not then it might indicate a hardware failure.
Hi, thanks for your reply.
Ok I'll try it one more time.
Hi Quester,
I tried repairing a couple of times, just in case, but no joy.
I'll have my phone checked at the local support center.
Thanks anyway
