Hi,
I'm looking to upgrade from my Backberry 9900, I like the look of the Z5 but it has to support Remote SIM Access Profile rSAP/SAP in the Bluetooth stack.
I have a VW Passat with the premium car kit and the phone won't connect unless it supports this. I know about the RSAP app at android-rsap.com but there has been confusion in the past about whether this app works on the Z3 let alone the Z5, and also whether the phone needs to be rooted.
Anyone got any ideas? There are just a few people in Europe who drive VW/Audi/Porsche cars that might need this feature! 🙂
Cheers,
Paul
I'm also driving a VW with only rsap support... and i just bought a Z5 premium... and now i have the same problem..
i know that i could change the Hardware in my car (Phone Control Unit) but i dont want to pay 200€ only for a bluetooth connection
I have the same problem.
I bought the xperia z5 compact. Its the newest of them, all older mobile models in this series had rSAP.
Now I read that rSAP is not included and have a skoda which uses rSAP to communicate.
I dont understand why rSAP is now not supported.
same here with my VW Golf. Have a Z5 and discovered it's missing such an important feature.
Please raise the priority and let it be included in a patch release!
Thanks in advance
I have a question to the support of RSAP (Remote Sim Access Profil) due to the Android 6 update:
Does the latest Xperia Z mobiles (Z5, Z3+ and Z3) support RSAP after updating to Android 6 (on the Z5 and Z3+) respectively 6.01 (on the Z3)?
Google provides support for RSAP with Android 6.
I was just trying whether I could connect my Z5C with my old Mercedes and failed. I was running the latest .185 firmware available. The hands-free kit is recognizing my phone but pairing did not succeed.
So for now I can tell you some news:
- RSAP for Z3C with root -> no problem with RSAP App (stable!)
- RSAP for Z5C with root -> some bigger problem with RSAP App, but it works! (not tested for a long period of time, just got it working)
Sony is such a bad company, they created a file in the EFS file system which blocks RSAP service from working! They don't support it, they even break it!
Hej Rickard,
It was quite a while since the rSAP issue was up for discussion in this forum. Have you found any solution to the issue?
