Note that not all variants of Z3 supports Quick Charge 2.0. Only the Japanese variants (SO-01G, SOL26 and 401SO) supports this but we currently don't have any Quick Charge 2.0 charger on the market.
We don't have any products that supports Quick Charge 1.0. Our quick charger is a 5V/1.5A charger.
Hello,
I have bought a Z3 Dual in the last couple weeks, and along with the phone, I was also thinking of getting a Quick Charge 2.0 charger, until I stopped by this forum and noticed that the Japanese variants of the Z3 are the only ones which support Quick Charge 2.0 technology.
My question is, why would that be? It is very well known that the SoC does support this technology, and it is heavily advertised everywhere the Z3 can be charged quickly with this technology. Technically speaking, why would only some variants of the phone support this technology? The limiting factor does look like it is a software issue. Can we expect to get this technology in the future, like the HTC One M8 users did, with a software update?
I am pretty sure that I am not the only one, among thousands of happy Z3 users, who are eager to be able to charge their top-tier phones in less than 3 hours.
As we are only members like yourself and don't have access to that info then I'm afraid to say we are unable to answer your query - you could contact Xperia care
Just to share that I know Z3 Dual does not support Quick Charge 2.0 by Qualcomm as only Z3 is being listed.
I just do a simple test with an app downloaded from the PlayStore to measure the Amp and voltage.
It seems that it is charging at 1.6A instead of the usual 1.5A from the default wall plug charger.

I'm sorry to say this but it's not
