Phone keeps crashing after software update

Every since the latest software update, my phone has been crashing and freezing and just not working properly, when it was perfectly fine prior to it!

Hi @Tamsin1,

I'm sorry to hear that. I would recommend that you try and reboot your device to safe mode to see if this may be caused by one of your downloaded apps as they will be temporarily disabled in this mode.

If the behavior persists I'd recommend that you try and software repair using Xperia Companion.

Keep me posted on how it goes!

Its a known issue Sony won't fix. Freezing, restarting and overheating - not taking charge. Its because of Nougat.

I just want to know hif and how I can remove the recent update.

No, it's not a Sony problem. This will happen with any software when its system files get corrupted by age, 3rd party apps, and a lot of other factors. I'd suggest that you do as @Emil suggested and perform a software repair using Xperia Companion. This will do a clean installation of the latest firmware and will also wipe your internal memory. Follow the steps given in the blue link, do not connect your phone until prompted to press volume down while plugging USB cable.

Note: The original poster has a Z3, which runs Marshmallow still. So your assumption about Nougat is not correct.

One not only crashes but it will no longer start at all. I have lost an 8 hour day. Going to tmobile, repair store theen calling support.  Support wanted it to be 30 second call so tried to get me off the phone ASAP regardless of whether the issue was fixed. I am no down loading the "fix" and now my phone wont start to take the fix and your office is closed. Not that based on your service during round one or two would there have been any use in calling.

To thise useres in a similar situation. Sony Xperia ohones have a fatal flaw. They upgrade to failed software causing your phone to repetitavly crash and power off. In my case it wont power back on. Per support if you attemp to down load the update and dont have above 45% or 80% battery ( depending on who you talk to) then the update will be fataly flawed and will continuoisly crash your phone. One the software is on your phone it cant be removed. Period. Returning to factory wont help. Oh and no Sony isnt repairing the update they sedn you but they will loosly guide you to a Web site where on your computer you can fix ( assuming it works) Not good news at all if you work for a living and need a cell phone on a work day. Oh dont bother dicussing this with Sony. They could care less.

So based on my info. Get another brand of phone from the get go Xperia is fataly flawed and they wont help. Option B Os to down load Sony xerpiria ware on your conputers ( destroying one device just isnt good enough for Sony).  load the repair software and the Sony app on to your computer. Make sure you click the buttons right because they try to turn Sony into the controbing app on your computer, which yiu probably dont want to do since they have already infected you cell phone. Then transfer the utility repair to your phone. I would thibk the professional solution would be to just repair the update and issue a disasterous update in the first place. But that logic is lost on Sony.

So the question is does any one at support care to tell me how to get my update crashed cell to power up? Oh btw dry boiting with the down volume button or the combo of the power on and down volume doesnt work.

Thanks for wasting my work day. Can you call my boss and explain why he could call me all day?
