Phone is AVG locked

PLEASE!! HELP ME!!! I recently removed my sim card to put another one in for travelling overseas.  When i removed it the AVG anti theft stuff activated.  I dont remember any of the passwords or accounts linked to the AVG account.  It doesnt accept any password I have tried! I tried to open the AVG site to open my avg account, it says that no device is registered on my account!!! and it advised me to open my avg app on the phone to configure it!! but the thing is, MY PHONE IS LOCKED by this stupid app!!!!!  I desperately need to get the phone working again as I am going overseas in a few days.

My options are A) Somehow unlock the phone with your help on here or B) Do a factory reset.   I have no idea how to do a factory reset because the phone is locked and not linked to the AVG account:(

Hi,

The only thing that I can suggest in this matter is to perform a software repair on your phone via PC Companion. This will reset the phone to factory settings and the lock should be removed:

In PC Companion you press start on Support Zone > Start on Update the phone/tablet software > Repair phone/tablet (the blue clickable link in the message) > Follow these steps without having your device connected to the PC.

Follow the instruction that appears in the program and do not connect your device until this guide tells you how to connect it.

You can also use MyXperia or Android device manager to reset your phone.

This has also happened to me and no one is prepared to help me.  I will be starting a new thread on this issue.  Hope you get it sorted.
