No Sound Outout from External Speaker in Xperia Z

When I connect a PC speaker to the 3.5 mm headphone socket, there is no sound output from the speaker. Headphones work fine but not this speaker. I know the speaker is fine because it work fine with my PC. Wonder if this is usual. Can someone please throw some light on this. I'm using Xperia Z.

Try settings-apps-all-smart connect,force stop and clear data.Restart.

Same problem: this is a software issue as the ring is working.and if you test the speaker with Sony diagnostic it will pass the test which means no hardware issue.

These are steps that I did.

1-Reset did not work

2- talk to Sony support. They told me connect to pc use Sony desktop app to Repair option but did not work

3- this one work. Install Sony Diagnostic check external speaker and in ear two times!  then sound is working. I could not find why using Sony diagnostic worked..?
