No ringtone after 5.1.1 update

After the 5.1.1 update the phone won't ring, it only shows who is calling, then I have to restart the phone so that it will ring for about 4-5 calls. After that it stops ringing.
Now I have to put my phone in vibration mode to know if someone is calling me. If the phone is not in my pocket I would miss that call.
Last update the problem was, while on call my voice was very feeble to the one I am talking to. But that is rectified in the new update. This time the problem is with ringtone. Please help

Try settings-apps-all, tap on 3 dots and reset app preferences. Set up your ringtone again.

But won't it delete my game cache and other caches?

No, it will only reset the way you open photos and videos. But those can be set up already.

1. Try safe mode and see how it is.

2. Is your song/music that you use as ringtone stored on external SD?

1. I tried safe mode but same problem, no ringtone after 4 calls.
2. All my ringtones are default ringtones provided by Sony.

You may need to perform a software repair using PC Companion.The process will erase all internal memory.You might need to charge your device for about 1-2 hours before so the device has at least 80% battery.

Make sure the device is not connected to computer or laptop and turned off (sometimes you have to press power button and volume up until the device vibrates 3 times or on some devices you have to press the small button near the SIM tray or on the back of the device).

Open PC companion->support zone->phone/tablet software update->repair my phone/tablet blue highlighted.Follow the steps given,do not connect your phone until prompted to press volume down while plugging USB cable. If PC companion does not start the repair process, you might need to run it in compatibility mode with Windows 7 (in some cases XP).

Rickard from sony told me: "Could you please check so that you don't have the developer option "Use AwsomePlayer" enabled? You can find this under Settings -> Developer options. If you don't see "Developer options", first go to Settings -> About phone and tap the build number 7 times. Then you should see it."

It work my phone ringing again normaly, change the configuration.

Thank you very much, it worked, I disabled it.
Now ringtone works with no problems.
