After turning NFC on, the icon that should be displayed in the status bar is not present on my phone. It used to show when I was on android 4.1, but after I updated to 4.2, it has stopped showing up in the status bar. I have tried repairing my software with pc companion as well as with update service but no success. Does anyone know what is the issue here? Here is a screenshot of how that looks:
The checkbox for NFC is ticked but no icon in the status bar on top of the screen.

With later software versions we have removed the icon for NFC from the status bar so this is not a problem with your phone. It will not display any icon for NFC in Android 4.2/4.3.
Thank you for the reply.
Then what about mine!! As u told "With later software versions we have removed the icon for NFC from the status bar".

My Zl has some Problem ? i have checked with my friend's Zl too.
It is possible that specific countries and operators still have this icon depending on the requirements for that market/operator.

First make sure that the display is on and unlocked on both phones when you hold them together. The NFC may also not be placed in the same location on all phones. Look for the NFC-symbol on the other phone and check that you hold the part of the other phone with the logo against the logo on the back of your Xperia Z.
To send for example a picture from your phone, open it in Album and then hold the phones together and tap the display in your Z when it asks you.
Lifelog doesn't update data via NFC,you need mobile data enabled and that's it.
