My Xperia can't locate my phone

i did register my phone with locate my xperia service and then lost my phone during december since now i havent got the phone and i keep on trying to find it,  so i find it difficult for me to say this program works while it didnt for me.

my xperia doesnt have a sim card on it does that mean i wont be able to locate it? i left it somewhere and when i came back it was gone

Don't bother activating this feature - it will not help you find a stolen phone, and it does the same as Google's Find My Device.  My phone was stolen months ago and this was no help!
