Message app keeps crashing

Recently I upgraded to Android lollipop but after that the message app just won't open and keeps on crashing when I click on it.
Can anyone help me on this?

Settings-apps-all-messages,force stop and clear data. Restart. Make sure you have a backup of your messages before you try.

No all power saving mode are off..

I am not sure it will help,just told you to keep an eye there too,as the discussion is almost the same. You can try to perform the repair.

Alright.. However I am not quite sure how that person got the app working but if there is no other option I will perform repair..
