Keyboard buttons not working

Greetings all:

Recently input via keyboard especially in portrait mode has been erratic. I cannot, for example, press the letter "s." The keyboard will return the letter "a" or "d," but never "s." Other times the keyboard types 2-3 characters (I can tell via haptic feedback, that the key presses multiple times). Issue of multi strikes occurs in both portrait and landscape. Other erroneous letters appear during these multi-strike occurrences...including pressing the Back button

Add to that, the Swipe function when answering a call works about 2/3 the time...very annoying.

What I have done so far: rebooted in safe mode to determine if it's a 3rd party application -- nope same issue

Bedore I run Xperia Companion, I was hoping others may have experienced this issue. I'm hesitant to do the repair because I will lose all of the data in a Cycling Application -- backup didn't work last time.

Well thanks for all the input. I guess the Z3 is truly a dead issue. I now have two Xperia handsets with issues Sony will not even allow me to pay to get fixed

I can't get my Z3C fixed -- no out of warranty service and now the Z3 seems to have fallen off the community radar

Yup, I've had this problem for a few weeks. Carried out all the suggested tests, no good. It appears that the digitiser is faulty, requiring a while new screen. It's just not worth doing in my country. I'm buying a Samsung now.
