Huge battery drain with Marshmallow. Android OS never lets phone sleep

Hii all

I have had this problem with Lollipop on my Xperia Z5, but it is now still present on my phone after I updated to marshmallow.

My phone has very huge battery drain, with the battery bairly lasting my a full day. Android OS is almost always one of the highest consumers and is constantly keeping the phone awake. I usually get 2-3 hours SOT from a full charge.

I also find that my cell standby consumes alot of battery and I have the mobile radio active bug that consumes battery too.

Can anyone please help?

Do i have a faulty phone, since these issues carried over from lollipop into marshmallow? It actulally very poor from Sony to sell a phone for $999AUD and advertise it as having 2 days battery life, when the battery barley lasts a single day with light usage.

Any suggestions would be greatly welcomed because I am nearing my wits end with this phone.

Yesterday, I updated my z5 premium to 6.0.1. I have a problem with the battery. The charging speed is super slow, usually it can fully charged within 2-3 hours, now only goes up to 30% in 2-3 hours. And the battery percentage is dropping when I am using the phone during charging.

Anyone have the same problem? Possible that I can downgrade to the older version?

After the last update my phone is always very hot.
I did a hard reset twice and the second time I didn't install any apps in order to understand where was the problem.
I discovered after a few days that the problem is DATA setting. If you leave data on the phone is always hot even if in standby. If you turn off your data phone works fine.
Another problem is the battery. I started to loose battery life with android 6 (with android 5.1.1 I reached the end of the day approx 30%) reaching the end of the day approx 10% but with the last update I can't reach the evening anymore.

I've decided a downgrade and my phone is reborn. I reach the evening approx 30% once again.

Sony, please find a solution before I will buy a Samsung. I had the z, the z1 and the z3c as well and I wouldn't want to buy a Samsung.

So you just downgrade the software to the previous version and that solved the battery drain issue?

Not sure how many have this function on:

6.0.1 introduced "charging optimisation" to lengthen the battery lifespan at the expense of undercharging the phone.

Prior to the recent 6.0.1 updates my battery life on light-med usage from 0800-2230: 30-40% remaining.

After the update on same light-med usage by 1500: <15% remaining - useless.

I switched this function off yesterday (about phone -> status -> charging optimisation) and today with usage from 0730-1830 the phone is at 50% remaining.

Hope this helps others as I almost bought a new phone due to this stupid function.

Good evening. I have a Z5 since May 2016 (E6653). SInce 25/11 it showed problems concerning battery performance. Specifically the day I mentioned, it started from 30% with only 3g on, and in 3 hours, the phone was dead due to battery drainage. This has never happened before. Also I have permanently on all the battery optimizations (including stamina mode) since the day i bought it. There was no software update recently so i dont believe that that's the problem. To clarify again, nothing has changed in the settings of the telephone for many months and this drop in performance became suddenly from the day I mentioned. Until 28/11 i had never encountered any problem with the phone. Does anybody know what could be wrong? The phone does not last a single day anymore (and be aware that during night i switch it off so it doesnt consume energy). Thanks.

Hi there I have a Sony Xperia Z5 and the battery last only 5 hours now, at most. The major batter drain appears to be Android OS and Android system. My software is up to date. I don't know why it's so bad.

Any help would be grateful
