Hii all
I have had this problem with Lollipop on my Xperia Z5, but it is now still present on my phone after I updated to marshmallow.
My phone has very huge battery drain, with the battery bairly lasting my a full day. Android OS is almost always one of the highest consumers and is constantly keeping the phone awake. I usually get 2-3 hours SOT from a full charge.
I also find that my cell standby consumes alot of battery and I have the mobile radio active bug that consumes battery too.
Can anyone please help?
Do i have a faulty phone, since these issues carried over from lollipop into marshmallow? It actulally very poor from Sony to sell a phone for $999AUD and advertise it as having 2 days battery life, when the battery barley lasts a single day with light usage.
Any suggestions would be greatly welcomed because I am nearing my wits end with this phone.

I had the issue battery drain issue with a Z5 which I had to send back to shop :
And it seems I have the same issue with a brand new Xperia X (I posted it in the X section).
Dear all,
I used a z3 compact a long time and was very satisfied with its battery life. After a good offer, I upgraded to z5 compact (and gave my wife my old z3c).
Meanwhile I am quite frustrated with my z5c (especially in comparison to my wife's phone).
No matter what I do the phone looses approx. 1% even when doing nothing! Regardless Airplane Mode or Stamina or Auto-Sync on or off the phone just keeps loosing juice. As the new battery stats of Android are pretty much useless I attach a few screenshots from GSAM to illustrate my problem (I even used greenify, amplify and x-posed to try some tweaks - but no effect), the drain is still present even though the phone "sleeps" or "doze".
I already resetted the phone and started from scratch - but no difference with the latest firmware 224.
Is there any chance of getting the phone to only drain the battery, when it is active?
(Only 4 "active", but 85% drain)
(first night with 15% loss - even though doze seems to be active, the activity shows that the phone is doing something)
(12 h doze - but loss of 9%)
(kernel seems to be the main culprit)
(another "typical" night with both doze and activity)
PLease use the search bar above and look for battery drain
I think I found the battery drain problem and the reason is with the Wi-fi constantly turned on when device is locked.
Go to Settings->Wi-Fi->Settings->Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep.
The option was 'Always', I changed it to 'Only when plugged in'. I hope this will fix the issue with Android System keep awake time. I'll share the results after few days
I just updated to MM 6.0.1 from 5.1.1 and it seems that my battery is draining more often. Within 1 hour it dropped by 3% it is not alot but considering that I did not touch the phone, I question. In 5.1.1, the battery was great and did not drain as much.
Battery usage:
try to use the search bar above and type "battery drain" you can see mulitple threads with solutions
I saw all the threads but my new problem is that, I turned on stamina mode last night before I slept(Airplane mode is on) , I had 83% but this morning I had 70%. Stamima mode made the phone drain more. I do not want to software repair as it will clear some of my games which are not cloud savable
6.0 was about the same as 5.1.1
6.0.1
is alot worse
hope they fix along with more thing ( i opened post about it)
i dont think repaier\warnnty will fix this need wait and hope for new update
it was 1-3% over night now is 8-10% over night
also while using the phone drain faster
I have a Sony Z5 Premium and after I updated to 6.0.1 it drains battery faster especially when screen is off for like 2 hours it will drop 4% and when I was with 6.0 it bearly drops. I even want to try to make it back to 6.0
Ok I have found a solution, and it is to just wait and continue to use it normally. I just waited and used it like I normally do even if there is huge battery drain. But it seems that it fixed itself, I guess because the phone needs to get used to the new software and optimize itself.
In the picture below, it seems that when I sleep, it does not drain as much as before. Daily usage: battery improved from 5.1.1 but 810 still draining alot. Overall, waiting seems to be the best option other than resetting the phone.
