How do I delete draft sms messages?

Hi, I love my Z2, but the messaging app is really bugging me at the moment.
I have a couple of sms threads which have auto saved drafts at the bottom of them, I don't need the drafts any more but can't find a way to get rid of them.
I tried just over writing the text when sending new sms messages but the draft text reappears when I send the new text.
I tried the Delete messages option but the draft text disappears from the thread so I can't select it for deletion.
I also tried clearing the Messages app cache and re -starting the phone, but no joy.
I could delete the entire thread, but that seems extreme for the sake of one draft message and besides, I don't really want to lose the whole thread.

There must be a way to get rid of them, can anyone explain how please?

Thanks!

Tap on hold on that draft, then the draft will be selected and your ready to delete it.

Thanks Bandolero, I thought I had tried this before but it turns out that how you quit from the draft message is important.
When I tried before, I deleted the draft text and then hit the 'back' arrow (the one that points left in the top left of the screen) to go back to the app home page, and hey presto, the draft reappeared.
Doing the same thing but then hitting the 'home' icon instead resulted in the draft being deleted.

Not the most intuitive solution but hey, it works and full Z2 love now restored!

Thanks again

Hi guys, this fix won't work for me, I can delete the draft, go bk or hit home, when I open the msg thread again it's there... I even delete an save the draft wit one word, but the full thing comes bk regardless... Extremely annoying and another reason on d list 2 stay away from Sony smartphone... They jus rnt worth so many headaches, with crap customer support!

Hi, I found a fix after twenty minutes of playing around, if you change your default messaging app to hangouts in the settings then you can open up the messaging app and from there you'll be able to delete any draft messages you have saved. Just have to be careful not to accidentally save some drafts in the future or you'll have to do it again.
