Home screen stopped rotating

Hi,

yesterday it worked properly, homescreen was rotating even in lock screen, today it not. All other apps, call log, messages, even settings rotates normally. Please dont tell me, its like this, because till today it worked perfectly.

I found that sony has this ... problem from Z1. Please any solution??? I use it for a dock and in the car..

Tried diagnostic but there is missing test of this sensor..restarted even with button next to sim slot, nothing helps..

I've already tried reinstalling the software.

I also tried a spirit level app which I know worked before and that doesn't work either.

Looks like it'll have to go back for repair, can't say I'm too impressed as I've never had a faulty phone before and this failed so quickly

Got a repair number for this now so just got to send it back.

Just a quick question...it says put it in a padded bag and not the original box, is this really strong enough against royal mail treatment ?

Also says get proof of postage, again considering the cost of the phone shouldn't this be insured or do Sony cover that if it goes missing ?

I'm disappointed Sony don't do it like other manufacturers, ie send you a pre-label box etc

How this is handled depends on your country/market so i'm afraid i can't say. You will need to contact your local support team for this information.

Same issue here. Fixed it with a soft reset.

Hold power and volume up key until phone vibrates three times and turns off. Wait 10 seconds and power it on.

is this statement still true for lollipop 5.0.2 on the z3 compact?

"The homescreen (launcher) and lock screen in Z3 will only rotate when the phone is docked (charger connected to the magnetic connector) and you hold the phone horizontally. If you charge it over USB or no charger is connected they will not rotate."

Mine stopped rotating completely but restart/soft reset fixed it

I bought my Xperia Z3 in January it was on Android 4.4 with no rotation issues, eventually I updated it to 5.0.1 thats when the auto rotate problems started. It could rotate but a few hours or minutes later it stops rotating (Auto rotate option On), i have to restart phone so that rotation works again. I waited for 5.1 and upgraded to it, the problem is not resolved. I have to restart my phone everytime during the day to use auto rotate, this is annoying and it means my sensors are working. Why allow phone updates if they are going to give problems or not solve them?
