Group Contacts lost in Nougat

Hi Good day!

I updated my z5 compact yesterday successfully.
Upon browsing, I found that the groups in the contacts page is no longer available.

Where can I find it?
Please help.

Sony what is going on, this is supposed to be an android system and subsequently seamlessly interacting with all the features of Google. Just removing the ability to use group contacts is very short sighted and very irritating. I'm sure it wasn't deliberate to annoy your customers, please fix the issue and bring back a great feature.

I spent a lot of time putting a number of my contacts into groups, whilst on Android 6. For example I had a group for 'Chemists' and another one named 'Car Related'. These were not so that I could send multi messages but so that I could easily find the contract I wanted to call. The tab I used to call them up from within Contacts is no longer there in Android 7. Why has such a useful feature been removed, or maybe it has just been moved. I hope it is just the latter.

Hey Sony,

please give us back the group tab in the contacts app, what is the meaning of creating a group if you can't easily see and access the members? The stock app for Nougat is not good to be political correct.

After the update to android 7, I can't acess my contact categories anymore. Just a combined list af all my contacts together.
This is just not usable for me. I need to seperate work contacts, collaboration partners and family etc.
This must be annoying to other business users also.
Will this be fixed soon?

I updated my Z5 compact to Nougat yesterday and found that I can no longer access Groups in my Contacts app.

Spoke to the Sony helpdesk today and they told me Groups have been removed at the request of the Network providers!

It doesn't make sense why such a simple option needs to be removed, so come on Sony get it sorted.

Dear Sony

Please update the app so you have the same functions as your version 19.3.A.0.54  of contact app had. We will get the groups back and the index on the side. This tip is free of charge.....

I just updated and apart from the user interface looking all different, the groups are gone. One of my most used features, don't understand why it would be removed.

Does anyone have an update or information about it?

I just update an Honor 8 to Nougat and guess what , their contact app still got groups visible.  So go back to your desk and start working..... and do what your customers want.  Soon you do not have any ...   Please do not come with a lame excuse that the network providers stopped the group tab, tell me a network provider that do not love group sms.

I updated my z5 to Android 7 yesterday and now the filter which displays only contacts with phone numbers has gone. Now my contact list is a total mess, full of people I don't even know, with no phone numbers, scraped from my email account and I can't get rid of them. Am I missing something or is this just the way 7 is? If so I'll be reverting to 6.

I'm not sure what groups are exactly, but not being able to filter out contacts with no phone is absurd. This worked just fine with Marshmallow. Update has ruined it.
