First day with the mobile, and shatter proof - shattered

Hi,

I just bought Xperia Z3 Dual, the mobile is great and every thing,

In the first day of use, it fell of my hand on the ground, i picked it up instantly, but i was surprised the screen was smashed like it was hit by big hammer!!
the touch functonality was lost, i went back to the buyer and he told me that warranty doesn't cover accidents, i told him that i had samsung s4 for two year and it fell 100 times and harder than that, and the screen sustained no damage at all!!

They said that the screen was shatter resistant not shatter proof!!

I email the local sony support in egypt and they replied "Good luck with your repair"!!

how can a mobile screen get smashed like that from a simple fall, and what is wrong with sony support people?!!

Anyone knows how to escalate to a higher level of support?

I've said this on here before but my wife has an S4 and after a week she dropped it and the screen shattered so it's not the make that matters it's in what way it falls and where it is hit however all you can do is contact Xperia care but as you dropped it then warranty will not cover this as you have mishandled your phone which is not how it is intended to be used as per the terms and conditions http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/support/contact-us/

There's no such thing as a "shatter proof phone" if there is, please do share the link. I'm sorry about your issue but you have 2 options, 1. with your local Xperia Care as Thommo suggested or 2 DIY, for the later you will void your warranty but it might be cheaper, just buy the LCD online and follow this

There is a shatter proof phone but i can't remember name of it it's a smart phone with a thick body and screen is shatter proof and so on, so if you drop it 100 times it will handle it without anything broken, it's one of those phone suitfull for people who climbs alot and such to prevent so their phone easly breaks.

So one of those extra rugged phones with a massive protective case? I've seen those, but even those can break

This phone is **bleep**. First 3 Days it dropped from couch during the night cracked the back of it. Couple of weeks later it slided true my hand and got cracked on front screen payed 300 euro in repair. Now i got a new crack after it slided of the toitlet seat. **bleep** you Sony

they will break yes but not as easly than most of phones that exists right now, you can like drop this phone like from 25th floor or something like that without it breaking, even a heavy vehicle like a panzer tank can drive over it without breaking anything.

if you don't have a protective case. You obviously don't care enough about your device and should expect bad things to happen. I understand it's a beautiful device and is always somewhat spoilt by any case. But at least she's safe.

Well, thank you all, i sent to be repaired at sony (out of the warranty of course ), and I bought a protective case and screen protector.
