I connect to several different bluetooth devices (a shower speaker, a sound system, and my car). I don't want my phone to automatically connect to the sound system, but I leave it enabled all the time so I can quickly connect.
I do want to connect automatically to my car, though, so that I don't have to take my phone out every time I get in and out of the car to start playing music. That's why I leave bluetooth enabled on my phone all the time: I'm never going to remember to turn it off every time I leave my car.
There are three problems with the auto-connect feature. First: my notifications go through the bluetooth, so I'll be sitting at home for a while before I check my phone and realize I have missed calls and text messages because it was connected to my sound system (which was turned off, even though the bluetooth was on). Second: when I try to disconnect manually, it doesn't let me. Who thought that would be a good feature? I feel like my phone is related to Dori. I tell it to disconnect and it says, "Ok, disconnected! ...Hey look, a known bluetooth device!" and connects again. Third: it drains battery. (Not sure if it's more draining than leaving bluetooth on unpaired, but I'm assuming it is.)
I can imagine countless other similar circumstances (e.g. what if you temporarily pair to a neighbor/roommate's device and then keep pairing to it every time they turn it on to use it?) Please add a feature that allows you to decide if you're going to automatically connect to a given device or not.
Hello, kairikeymaster! Did you find any way or application to disable bluetooth auto-connect for specific device? I have Bluetooth speaker that support only one connection, and 3 android devices. After turning on - it connects to random device. I want manually connect to device that I want, so disabling bluetooth autoconnecting will be very useful function!
Nope, sorry, they still haven't responded 😕
